Toddler Art Desk and Chair Set: Get Your Lil' Picasso Started Early ~ But Keep Your Sanity!

Toddler Art Desk with Chair Set: Molded Plastic with Supply Storage

Toddler Art Desk and Chair Sets Molded from Plastic: cleans up well with plenty of storage

Having had twin boys, I can still see the frightening flashes of mania when my toddler boys were presented with art projects of any ilk [enter your own scary visual, here]. Seriously, if you don't keep your toddler's art supplies organized and at-the-ready, you're headed down the path of insanity (you, not your toddler).
It's here where a toddlers' art desk and chair set like the Step2 Deluxe Master Art Desk above is a great option. You'll have plenty of storage for supplies, a nice chair that matches the desk quite nicely. I'm loving the cubby for toddler's art paper (I like the pads of multi-media paper). And aren't all the storage nooks, fabulous?

Art/Craft Desk and Attached Chair Set for Toddlers

Super Space-Saver Art Desk and Chair Set: Step2 Write Desk
Here's the answer to the small bedroom, where you want
your toddler to have an art desk with full-size features without taking up too much room. Especially for younger toddlers, this desk and chair set (well, not a chair, per se but it's all in one tidy bundle) won't cramp your style if you plan to use it in common living areas. Too, you can haul this lil' guy outdoors on those fan-tab-u-lous, spring days. Doesn't that sound great?  With toddlers, ya just never know how the latest craft or art project is gonna turn out (I'm thinking paint on carpet, the doors, the dog. . . ). Seriously, you can opt to take this toddler-sized a desk set into a toddler-friendly zone and save your home from a new paint treatment.

Which toddler-friendly art desk set is your fave? Will you be using it in your toddler's bedroom or another room--or even outside?

Paris London New York Bedding ~ A World of Big City Dreams

London, Paris and New York Bedding Set: Black and White

London, Paris and New York City Comforters and Bedding Sets like these make for a stunning bedroom theme, where you'll get a nightly dose of the three of the world's most fabulous cities. I love themed bedrooms, don't you?

Too often, when we don't have a theme--a direction--for our decor, we can get off track and then we lost in a sea of mismash. Themes help us give our most intimate spaces a voice, a vibe and an energy that we find most comfortable. It's this focus on one idea that result in some of the most successful decor genres.

Let's have a look at some of these total fab, London, Paris and New York City comforters, pillows and other bedding along with budget-wise, start to finish themed, bedroom decor you'll love.

Let's get started!

Black and White New York City, Paris and London Bedding

The Paris, London and New York bedding sets above are black and white and you'll do well to accessories with color. Pieces like themed throw pillows will work well to give your bedroom that extra splash of color you'll need to really reflect that big-city energy.

Paris Themed Throw Pillow: Add New York and London Bedding

Add Colorful, Themed Pillows of Your Favorite City

New York City Throw Pillow Cover~ Add London & Paris Pillows as Well

Pillows covers are a great way to add a big punch of color with such a small accessory while saving money on your decorating budget. The Paris pillow above has  both the black and white newspaper-like presence while lending a feminine touch to your  bedroom. Conversely, the pillow here, contributes to a modern, big city vibe.
New York, Paris and London Themed Art Adds Strength to Your Bedding

Don'tcha just love these wall art pieces above? Each print is an expression of London, Paris and New York's big-city, energy. The brilliant, eye-catching hues burst from the black and white city background make fabulous focal pieces. The prints are on stretched canvas and come in a variety of sizes, too. I  have a rule of thumb about choosing the wall and hanging your art below.

Framed New York, Paris and London Wall Art: Easy~Peasy Decor

Paris, London and New York City Themed Wall Art

Wall art complete with a frame is a genuine, out-of-the-box option for themed decor. These cute prints are about the size of a piece of printer paper, so they can fit nicely on a small or narrow wall. Be sure to keep to my mantra (it really works every time) of, "Large art/large wall; small art/small wall.

Too many times I've seen fabulous art pieces that look woeful because the rule isn't followed and the artwork looks like a postage stamp on a large envelope. Aargh!

When building your New York, Paris and London themed bedroom, add a mix of wall art, pillows and accessories to balance out your decor and you'll have a total fab result!

Hollywood Glam on the Cheap: Mirrored Bedroom & Living Space Furniture

Dare I Say 'Cheap?' Budget-Wise Bedroom or Living Space Mirrored Chest

Mirrored Furniture:                                                   a reflection of style

Mirrored glass furniture like these have resurfaced in recent years. Its reflective properties literally enhance your room's decor, adding a Hollywood style oomph to your favorite room.
Mirrored furniture's reflective properties evoke light, adding the illusion of space and light, where your bedroom or living space may not have floor space or lacking natural light.
Mirrored furniture pieces do have one caveat: that extra glimmer of light and reflection doubles your space's existing pieces, so be sure your waste basket isn't the focus of your mirrored nightstand, table or chest, lest you have double the mess!
On the other hand, you can use mirrors to reflect artwork and color; go ahead and use that feature to your advantage!

Small Bedrooms &  Mirrored Nightstands and Chests

Mirrored Nightstand: Bring the Illusion of Space
This smaller piece is ideal for bedrooms that lack area space. We all know how mirrors can make a room look infinite--you don't have to feel cramped in a small, dark bedroom or common living area. Use mirrored furniture strategically: have it face a window to get double the light. Or, where there's a quirky nook that needs addressing, put a small cabinet like the mirrored nightstand above. VIOLA! Problem solved.

Cheaper Mirrored Accent/Sofa Table with Drawers

Open Crowded Spaces:                                                  console sofa/accent tables to the rescue

I love this mirrored sofa/console table! It's a great choice for incorporating in foyers and focal walls needing that 'something special' adding both form and function to any size space. This table has two great drawers and will serve as a fabulous place to keep keys and other important items secure and at the ready.

If your bedroom or other favorite living space need spicing up, added light and space with a 'spritz' of Hollywood Glam, just one mirrored furniture table, chest or nightstand will set the stage for an amazing result.

What's your favorite mirrored furniture piece?

Purple Shaggy Rugs: the Budget-Wise Opulent Decor Option

Purple Shaggy Area Rugs Warm Spaces

Purple Area Rugs with High Shaggy Pile

Purple is such a majestic hue, no matter the shade: lavender, deep purple, lilac, etc. The tone sets a warm, welcoming ambiance in any living area, bedroom--even nursery rooms.

Hardwood, bamboo and other popular tile flooring looks fabulous but can make your room look harsh and sterile. I chose a light shade of bamboo flooring and I love it. But my huge great room looked naked and unfinished until I added rugs: one in front of my sofa, under the coffee table and a round rug under a bar-height table. They look great and add drama, where before the room seemed unfinished.

The purple rug area above has that shaggy, high-pile you'll need to break up harsh flooring.

Round Shaggy Purple Area Rug
Round Purple Rugs: Break Up Those Harsh Lines

Long sofas and all those linear furniture pieces can result in a stiff, formal arrangement. Round rugs like the light purple one below will break up the room's harshness, adding texture and dimension.

As I mentioned above, I used a round area rug to create a separate space in large rooms. Because everything in the room is a straight line design with my coffee and end tables, I used a round table with a round rug like this light purple (lavender, really) one underneath. The area looks very inviting. Too, round purple shaggy rugs are fabulous in nursery to teen bedrooms, so they can go from room to room and baby's room to cool hangout.

Round & Shaggy: High-Pile Dark Purple Area Rug
Purple Rug Hues:

Light or Dark Purple?

There's a  big contrast in both round purple rugs. Both have the shaggy, high pile and promise to add a soft but rich aura to your room.  A light purple round area rug is great in nursery rooms for creating a nice reading nook with a cozy chair underneath. Or, conversely, teen's love the dark purple rugs and the shaggy pile will be just the warm feature any space with hard flooring needs. With round rugs, a mini chandelier overhead is the perfect finish to any space, be it a bedroom, nursery or common, living area.
